A cordon remains in place as firefighters dampen down
Firefighters rushed to the scene of the fire on Mount Sion Road in Radcliffe at around 6pm yesterday as huge plumes of black smoke billowed from the blaze. The flames and smoke could reportedly be seen from miles around, with pictures capturing the thick plumes over the building.
Pictures show multiple police vehicles stationed on a nearby road. Both the fire service and Greater Manchester Police confirmed that an investigation into the cause of the fire is now underway. In a statement, a Greater Manchester Police spokesperson said: "At around 6.20pm this evening officers were called by the Fire Service to reports of a fire at a commercial property on Mount Sion Road, Radcliffe.
