The fire began late last night
At around 11.18pm on Thursday, October 13 the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service received its first report of a blaze at a commercial property on King Street.
A further 25 calls were made as a total of seven fire engines and two high-reach vehicles raced to the scene. At around 12:34am Lanarkshire Police confirmed that road closures were in place as the fire continued. A spokesperson said:"Emergency services are currently in attendance at a fire on King Street, Rutherglen, following a report around 11.30pm on Thursday, October 13 2022.
"King Street is currently closed in both directions and Farmeloan Road is also closed to the junction with Alleysbank Road."
