Finland is bolstering its defences with a 10ft barbed wire fence along their border with Russia to stop conscripts those fleeing Putin's rule.
Finland is building a fence along its border withThe Finnish Border Guard confirmed they have begun terrain work, which involves ‘forest clearance’ to make way for roads and improved fencing.
Light wooden fences in place along the 1,300-kilometre border are mainly designed to keep livestock in place,But harder materials are now needed to stop Russians escaping conscription, including barbed wire, night vision cameras, lights and loudspeakers. In the days following the Kremlin’s order, almost 60,000 Russians arrived in Finland through four checkpoints.
