Residents claim some drivers reach 80mph
Neighbours have condemned 'Fast and Furious' drivers who they have warned could cause a fatal accident on their road. Nottinghamshire Police carried out checks on Colwick Road and Cardale Road, in Sneinton, on August 4 after residents complained about speeding.
"It's a long and straight road and you get people who definitely aren't doing the speed limit. It's a problem on this road."Another Sneinton local, who did not want to be named, felt "someone could get killed" by speeding drivers on the road. And she compared the drivers to those in the Fast and Furious action film series, known for its all-star cast including the likes of Dwayne Johnson and Vin Diesel.
"There's an old people's home and kids are running about. I feel like someone is going to mount the pavement - they seem to race to beat the train." During the recent operation, which saw police check the speed of 100 vehicles in Colwick Road and Cardale Road, six motorists were issued with tickets. A driver not wearing a seat belt and a motorist using a mobile phone while driving were also stopped.
