Carol Keenan, from Fife, died after visiting Istanbul for treatment and her devastated family now want changes put in place.
The family of a doting gran who died while in Turkey for cosmetic surgery are calling on the Scottish and Turkish authorities to take action following her death.
Her partner Stevie and their daughter Leonie have now said they believe changes should be made by the Scottish and Turkish Governments to try and prevent other families from going through similar hell. “Make it harder for girls, men, boys, to go across there and get life-threatening major surgery. It’s a production line and it shouldn’t be like that. It’s a nightmare. It’s a horror story of botched mistakes. There’s endless mistakes.”
"I thought it was more civilised and dignified. Stevie and I went in to the funeral director to speak about arranging being able to view mum and visitors coming in and he was a bit hesitant before we went in to see mum. When referring to the post mortem, the funeral director said: 'Leonie, I’m not going to lie, they’ve butchered your mum'."
