The game’s official Twitter account announced it had hit a huge milestone soon after launching in its new form. In fact, within the first 48 hours in the new Free For All form it had said hello to 20 million players. That’s across all formats, including Switch and Xbox who were new additions in the relaunch.
As you’d probably expect for an online game, said launch was not without its teething issues. The sheer numbers of players attempting to get into the game caused some disruption for the first few hours.. As well as adding a bunch of new rounds and new content, the Free-For-All sees the season counter reset. Free-For-All is now considered the game’s Season One in this new era, and comes with a Season Pass.‘ free-to-play transition doesn’t mean the end of its many collaborations either.
