Extinction Rebellion and Just Stop Oil protesters disrupted a glitzy awards bash for the energy sector in Aberdeen last night.
“Instead of hosting fancy dinners, Shell should recognise that humanity is in emergency mode.” Another protester, 71-year-old former social care worker Jonathan, added: “The time for awards for oil and gas achievements is well over.” Larger banners saying “Climate Emergency” and “Stop Rosebank” - a huge new oil field planned off the coast of Shetland - were attached to barriers behind them.
