When we fill our diet with foods full of antioxidants, healthy fats, water, and essential nutrients, our body will show its effects through the body's largest organ - the skin. There’s only so much that creams, masks, and serums can do.
Researchers have concluded that eating fruit and vegetables is the safest and healthiest way to combat dull complexions and fine lines but there are other foods and drinks you may not be aware of which can help, a video on TikTok has explained. Dr Sethmind, who is a gastroenterologist, shared a video to TikTok explaining three 'science backed foods' recommended to slow down ageing.
“The third one on the list is a beverage with the most anti-ageing potential known to mankind but first berries such as blueberries, blackberries, strawberries and raspberries are rich in vitamin C and flavonoids. Alternatives where berries are not readily available oranges as they are also packed with antioxidants.
“Second is nuts such as walnuts and almonds provide healthy fats, vitamin E and antioxidants. These maintain skin elasticity and to protect against ultraviolet damage and support overall skin health. “An alternative if you have a nut allergy would be seeds like pumpkin and sunflower seeds. The third and my personal favourite is green tea which contains polyphenols like catechins that protect cells from damage.Discover, learn, grow. We are Curiously.
