Queues at airports are often a nightmare for holidaymakers and are the least relaxing thing to face as you look to start your holiday. As a result, expert advice has been issued to help ease the strain on both airports and travellers, recommending how early you should turn up before your flight
At the height of disruption, some travellers were being told to get to the airport over three hours before flights, but which then resulted in even longer delays. This is because holidaymakers arriving far too early were crowding queues for people who were on time. Heathrow Airport - passengers should arrive two hours before a flight for short-haul trips and three hours before for long-haul flights
