Lancashire's scorching heatwave is set to be dramatically ended this weekend by thunderstorms and rain.
Thundery showers are predicted to hit Blackpool at 9am and then again from 3pm to 5pm. In Preston, it will be a largely fine morning with the exception of some drizzle at 10am before thundery showers arrive at 2pm and continue until 9pm. Meteorologist Simon Partridge said: "If we do see 30C all the way through until Sunday, which it looks fairly sure it will be, that will be six days in a row that we have reached 30C. Previously in September we’ve only reached 30C three days in a row.
