Christmas this year falls on a weekend - meaning the bank holidays have been moved

It may be over two months away, but for many people, their Christmas planning is well underway. And with the nights getting longer and temperatures beginning to drop, thoughts are turning to cosy days off and precious time with family and friends this festive period.

This year Christmas Eve falls on a Saturday, and Christmas Day on a Sunday. That means Boxing Day, Monday, December 26, is the next bank holiday however Tuesday, December 27 has also been designated one with Christmas Day being at the weekend.It means those working Monday to Friday will get at least four consecutive days off around the festive period.

If you’re really looking to plan ahead, here are all the dates for the rest of next year’s bank holidays:Next year there may also be an extra bank holiday for the coronation of King Charles III. Reports have suggested that this could take place on Saturday June 3 and that it would be the centerpiece of several days of celebration to mark the beginning of the new monarch's reign.
