Everton are reportedly close to being sold to an American private investment firm despite a looming hearing over alleged Financial Fair Play breaches. The Toffees are said to be in 'advanced negotiations' over a takeover by 777 Partners LLC, according to the Telegraph.
Sean Dyche's side avoided relegation on the final day of last season with a narrow home victory over Bournemouth, and have lost three of their opening four Premier League fixtures this term. Leeds United succumbed to the drop with a heavy defeat to Tottenham at Elland Road, while Leicester City's victory over West Ham proved to be in vain.
