MSP Sports Capital withdrew from talks about taking a minority stake in Everton earlier this week
Everton have claimed that talks are continuing around new investment after a deal with MSP Sports Capital collapsed.
However, the major stumbling block that saw the deal collapse was seemingly a pre-existing arrangement with a Cheshire-based firm, Rights and Media Funding Limited, who had issues around the structure of the deal and the removal of some of their protection against possible default.READ MORE: What MSP Sports Capital blow means for Everton and Farhad Moshiri
"As the majority shareholder has stated previously, he will continue to explore discussions on new investment, provided it is right for the future development of the football club." "We know we have to work hard in the market, find ways of creating deals because we don't have a pot of gold. I knew that from when I got the job and have been working diligently with [Director of Football] Kevin Thelwell, scouts, and various contacts to try and find the right players that can fit in and make us stronger."
