The St Helens man, who was recently crowned Super League’s Young Player of the Year, was involved in England’s second try too, firing a brilliant cut out pass to winger Dom Young, who galloped past the scrambling Samoan defence to put some daylight between the two teams. Having played so well but let their opposition back into the game, you could be forgiven for thinking England’s second half performance would be nervy and tense. But Wane’s men went up a gear and produced some stunning moments to score 42 points in just 40 minutes.
