Yet more rain is on its way for southern England, after some areas endured a month’s worth of downpours in 24 hours.
Saturday afternoon and evening is likely to be wet for many, with outbreaks of rain developing acrossWith Sunday likely to see further showers, many people’s outdoor weekend plans are set to be washed out.Euro 2020Parts of the South East saw nearly 70mm of rainfall in 24 hours, with Hampshire and Buckinghamshire seeing the worst of it.
The areas particularly affected included Otterbourne, near Winchester, which saw 67mm of rainfall from 11pm Thursday to 5pm Friday. Dancers End and Drayton Parslow in Buckinghamshire, Toddington in Bedfordshire and southern Farnborough in Hampshire all had rainfall between 57mm and 65mm. Met Office weather warnings that were in place overnight have now cleared but drivers are being warned there is lots of standing water on the roads.
