Karen Blick is at the centre of one of the soap's most important storylines
The soap star has played Lydia DIngle in the fictional Yorkshire village since 2016. The character is a key part in one of the show's most harrowing storylines as she will be raped by Craig in upcoming episodes.
They first met in 1996 while both were working for children’s outdoor pursuits company PGL and started a relationship after Karen had graduated from acting school. The two are the proud parents of two children and Karen credits SImon for remaining supportive as she tried to get her break in the acting industry.
Before her break in Emmerdale, Karen admitted she considered quitting acting and even trained to become a teacher. She said: "She said: “There were many times I’d considered giving it up. I even trained as a teacher and did a PGCE in 2008.”
