A person was rushed to hospital on Wednesday evening after being hit by a bus crossing a road, the Manchester Evening News understands.
A cordon was put in place closing Oldham Street, Dale Street, and a section of Church Street for a number of hours. They said: "I was walking along the other side of the road at the time. It seemed a very bad collision.
"I ran down the road to flag down an ambulance that was parked there and think the fire engine must’ve gone up within 90 seconds or so. It all happened very quickly and the road was very busy at the time."
