The captain was a veteran pilot who had flown commercially for over 25 years

An airline pilot has died in the toilet of his aircraft on a flight from Miami in the United States to the capital of Chile, Santiago. The flight was reportedly carrying 271 passengers at the time of the incident.

The veteran pilot had been flying for over 25 years and was 56 years old at the time of his death. Thankfully, as is the law in commercial flying, the plane had another pilot in the cockpit to fly the 271 passengers to safety. "When the plane landed, emergency services provided life-saving help, but the pilot sadly passed away. We are deeply moved by what has happened, and we extend our sincere condolences to the family of our employee.
