The victim was left 'shaken' after the incident
Police have issued an appeal for information after an elderly woman had her handbag snatched from her near a bus stop in Stockport.
The woman was left with minor injuries, police added. The incident happened near the bus stop across the road from the Trivelles Mayfair hotel.Police said the offender had been described as an Eastern European/Asian male, with thick, black, straight hair. He was around 6ft tall and of average build. They would also like to speak to a 'Good Samaritan' who returned the victim's bag to her. PC Jenkinson of GMP’s Stockport district said: "A good Samaritan returned the victim’s bag to her but didn’t leave any contact details.
