Two party crashers who were kicked out after dancing shirtless returned with a knife and a meat cleaver to ransack a Harehills café while revellers hid in a basement.
It was said the pair returned, throwing planters and garden furniture at the windows. Those inside were forced to throw items back at them before they left again. However, Benson, of Whinmoor Way, Swarcliffe, and Wilson, of no fixed abode, returned again - this time carrying weapons. Mitigating for Wilson, Philip Mahoney said he understood it was a case that would result in a sentence of immediate custody. He said: "He is a man who has struggled since early childhood with regular outbursts of anger but that has only recently expanded into incidents of violence such as this one."
