A zoo in China has been forced to deny that one of its sun bears is being played by a person in disguise.
Edinburgh Zoo has confirmed that one of its bears is "real" after a separate zoo in China faced unusual allegations.
On Sunday, the Chinese zoo was forced to say that Angela is in fact real and not a human in a bear costume. As a result, the Scots zoo has taken to social media to smooth any possible speculation surrounding its Malayan sun bear Rotana, who lives in the capital city's enclosure. In 2019, Rotana was brought to Edinburgh Zoo after being rescued from the illegal pet trade back in 2010 by the Free Bears charity who found her trapped in a tiny cage in a Cambodia home. He shares an enclosure with a female sun bear called Babu, who came from the Czech Republic.
