The Royal Zoological Society of Scotland has announced that giant pandas Yang Guang and Tian Tian will return to China this December after almost 12 years in Edinburgh.
According to the, Yang Guang and Tian Tian will go back home in the early part of the final month of the year. The wildlife conservation charity stated that the giant pandas have had an"incredible impact" by connecting millions of people with nature.first came to Scotland in December 2011 as part of a 10-year deal between the RZSS and the China Wildlife Conservation Association.
RZSS chief executive David Field added:"With more than a million species at risk of extinction and our natural world in crisis, Yang Guang and Tian have had an incredible impact by inspiring millions of people to care about nature. The habitat at Edinburgh Zoo currently being occupied by Yang Guang and Tian Tian will become home to a new species after they leave, which will be unveiled in 2024.
