The unnerving incident took place in the Meadowbank area of Edinburgh on Thursday morning.

An Edinburgh woman has been left feeling "unsafe in her own home" after two hooded prowlers were caught lurking outside her flat. The woman, who has asked not to be identified, has shared CCTV footage of the suspicious duo as they inspected doors in the communal stairwell.

He was joined by a blonde female who was also wearing dark-coloured clothing and black sunglasses. The concerned resident told Edinburgh Live that she feared for her own safety, as well as a number of vulnerable residents in the building. “I live on my own but I have vulnerable residents in this building who I look out for. There are also people with disabilities, the elderly, and families with young children and single mothers as well as females living alone in this area.

"The residents in my area are vigilant now of these two individuals and will keep an eye out. Whether the police would do anything if they came back, who knows. These individuals entered our building on Thursday 24 at 8.20am. It is shocking.
