There's a number of ways to save money on your weekly supermarket food shop
With the cost of living crisis raging on, the majority of us are feeling the pinch. Energy bills are rising, fuel costs are soaring and food and household essentials are on the up. The Echo has embarked on a series of cost of living challenges to sample supermarkets' value ranges to see if they measure up to pricier brands.
The hacks included suggestions to try meat free Mondays, which could save the average household of four people £8.30 a week - £398.40 a year. Others include making optimum use of the freezer to reduce food waste, which also prolongs meal choices throughout the week. It's common practice to visit the supermarket armed with the list of products you wish to purchase. This can lead to savings of £11 as shoppers are less likely to make impulse purchases.
