Sad news just in
The man, in his 30s, was riding a mountain bike which had been modified to be used as an electric bike when he hit the boy who was crossing the road at the junction of Skeffington Road and Ribbleton Lane. The boy, 16, suffered a broken leg and internal injuries which police say are not life-threatening.The rider, also from Preston, was taken to hospital with a serious head injury and but could not be saved. His family are being supported by police and a witness appeal has been launched.
Sgt Chris Evans, of the Road Policing Unit, said: “This collision has very sadly cost a man his life and my thoughts are with his loved ones at this time.
