Everton arrived at the London Stadium on the back of an emotional week for all connected to the club.
Blues boss Sean Dyche has long spoken about the need for his players to shut out the outside 'noise' and just focus on the things they can control. And here at the London Stadium, they did just that. They showed that no matter what gets said in regards to things they can’t control, they will just continue to control the things they can. They are doing their talking on the pitch.It has been an interesting opening to the season for Vitalii Mykolenko.
However, in the last two weeks, the full-back has been superb. Against Mohamed Salah at Anfield, he didn’t give the Liverpool man a minute. Of course, it was a collective effort from the whole team, but the fact Everton became the first side to keep a clean sheet against the Hammers this season speaks volumes about how well Mykolenko played, especially when you consider Bowen came into this match with six goals and one assist to his name from nine Premier League games.
