Jessica Horne, from Burnley, was met on the runway by police after the plane landed and when in custody she attacked two officers
A mum-of-three who had been drinking beer 'all day' launched into an expletive-ridden racist rant at a Ryanair flight attendant after she was repeatedly told to stop vaping on a flight.
However when in police custody she attacked two officers. Horne, of Granville Street, Briercliffe, admitted entering an aircraft when drunk, racially aggravated harassment and two offences of assaulting a police officer, but was handed a suspended sentence. “He took her to the back of the plane to calm her down and one passenger offered her his seat so she could sit away from her family, as her partner was also complaining about her behaviour. She continued harassing the man when he removed her vape by taking hold of his jacket, stroking his name tag and saying his name which made him feel uncomfortable. Things then escalated, with Horne using racist slurs towards the steward, who is of Filipino origin.
She was still ‘relatively intoxicated’, calling officers “horrible, nasty b*****ds” and was that drunk she was unable to put on her shoes As she was being escorted away she spat at one officer, though it fortunately did not land on him. In December 2021, she was handed a suspended sentence after failing to provide a specimen of breath when pulled over for drink driving. The court heard that Horne, a self-employed cleaner, had developed issues with alcohol following an abusive relationship in which her ex-partner was sent to prison for two assaults on her.
