Mohammed Miah and Abdul Khan were sentenced at the High Court in Edinburgh earlier today.
Two drug dealers who took over the homes of addicts while shipping heroin and cocaine into Scotland have been jailed for more than 11 years.
Another man was given £30 of crack cocaine every day to allow Miah and Khan to take over his home. They sold wraps of heroin and cocaine themselves and directed others to sell drugs and collect money on their behalf.Some users were also persuaded to act as couriers or drivers, while the pair used the bank accounts of the drug users they recruited to send the proceeds of their crimes to family members down south.
They had earlier admitted offences under the Misuse of Drugs Act. The offences took place between July 2018 and June 2020 and the charges were aggravated by each man’s connection to Serious Organised Crime. "This underlines our commitment to the Serious Organised Crime Taskforce and the country’s Serious Organised Crime Strategy.
