Great work by police!
A motorist found to be in possession of a machete and an amount of cannabis was arrested by traffic cops from Greater Manchester Police after a pursuit around the market town of Ramsbottom.
The suspicious-looking vehicle was initially spotted by police conducting motorway patrols on the M66, after the driver failed to pull over a pursuit continued for several minutes. It wasn't long until the driver lost control of the vehicle on a roundabout and the police were about to bring the chase to an end. Officers then moved in and apprehended the fleeing motorist.Upon a search of the vehicle, officers discovered a machete and a small amount of cannabis, and so duly took the driver into custody.
Greater Manchester Police Trffic tweeted about the incident in the ealry hours of this morning . It read: "Vehicle sighted by one of our motorway patrols on the M66. It failed to stop for several minutes and was pursued around #Ramsbottom before the driver lost control on a roundabout and was arrested. A machete was recovered from the vehicle as well as a small amount of cannabis."
The force also shared an image of the vehicle on the grass area of the roundabout following the police chase.
