A furious mum has slammed the sentence handed out to a drink driver who ran over her son leaving him with an open leg fracture.
The schoolboy was taken to Alder Hey Children's Hospital where he had six hours of surgery to repair his leg. His injury meant Bobby missed out on his 10th birthday celebrations, and has to attend the hospital every week for follow ups.Last week the car's driver, 57-year-old Carol Edge appeared before South Cheshire Magistrate's Court where it was heard she was almost twice the drink-drive limit, Cheshire Live reports.
"He had an open fracture. He was lying on the floor when I got out there and his bone was out of his skin. That night we went to Alder Hey Children's Hospital and he had emergency surgery for six hours.
