Police and Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service were called to Bull Close Road, Lenton, shortly after 10.30am on Monday, September 4, after the package was found
Nottinghamshire Police explained it and believed there was no wider risk to the public and the package will now be further examined. The road has been closed by police officers and 50 people have been forced to leave the building, although police say this is just a precautionary measure.
Chief Inspector Paul Hennessy said: “Emergency services were called to an address in Bull Close Road, Lenton, shortly after 10.30am this morning after a suspicious package was discovered. The package will now undergo further examination in conjunction with our colleagues from Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service.
“Around 50 people have been evacuated from the building as a precaution and the road has been closed while investigations continue. At this time we do not believe there is any wider risk to the public."Fire crews on scene of incident A spokesperson for Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service said: "We are currently in attendance at a multi-agency incident on Bull Close Road, Dunkirk. Firefighters from Highfields, and Leicestershire Fire and Rescue Service’s Loughborough and Shepshed Fire Stations are in attendance.
