Can the Dodgers get to Zac Gallen?
Game 1 of Dodgers-Diamondbacks was depressing for a lot of reasons. It stinks to see an all-time great trying to compete with a shoulder full of cottage cheese and be as ineffective as he’s ever been. It stinks to wait for a baseball game for three days and realize after six minutes that it won’t be a very compelling one to watch. And it really stinks when you can smell the narrative bubbling up a few pitches into the game.

Nothing against , a fine pitcher who is worthy of a co-ace label, but Gallen is clearly the Diamondbacks’ ace and the starter they’d clone four times if they had the technology.

The bad news is that Bobby Miller is the Dodgers’ best starting pitcher right now. It’s not bad news because of anything Miller’s doing. No, he’s been fantastic. He’s arrived. He’s yet another example of the Dodgers stealing a top-of-the-first-round talent in the back of the first round. They can’t keep getting away with this.
