The Yaz actress bowed out of the sci-fi drama in the centenary special, The Power Of The Doctor, alongside the 13Following the dramatic episode, which aired on Sunday, Mandip took to Instagram to share a number of throwback photos while praising her co-stars, crew members, and fans.
Captioning the post, she wrote: ‘And the best part about it all is “nobody else got to be us” thank you to every single person behind the camera, in front and watching for the best five years ever! ‘I never thought I’d say this, but I hope I’m followed by Doctors and Daleks for the rest of my life. “Let’s not say goodbye” 💙🙏🏾’She also posted a series of behind the scenes snaps on her Instagram Story.
Fans were quick to shower Mandip with love, including Doctor Who showrunner Russell T Davies, who will be returning to the BBC show next year.The official Doctor Who account replied: ‘Thank YOUFollowing the 90-minute special, the BBC confirmed David will become the 14th incarnation of the Doctor with Catherine Tate reprising her role as his former companion Donna Noble.
Talking about the future, returning showrunner Russell teased: ‘If you thought the appearance of David Tennant was a shock, we’ve got plenty more surprises on the way.‘And how is it connected to the return of the wonderful Donna Noble? How, what, why? We’re giving you a year to speculate, and then all hell lets loose.’
