Batches of several items, including cheese and onions rolls, steak and ale pie and mini pork sausage rolls are affected and customers are urged to return them
Shoppers have been warned not to eat several chilled products from Tesco over safety concerns. Several batches of the items are covered by the warning.
Tesco has warned that its packs of six cheese and onion rolls with a best before date of August 31 should not be eaten due to worries they may contain plastic and metal and are unsafe to eat.
The Food Standards Agency said the products 'may contain pieces of metal and plastic which makes them unsafe to eat'. All of the items have been recalled by Tesco. In the alert, Tesco apologised for the inconvenience and told customers not to eat the products if purchased and instead return them to a store for a full refund, with no receipt required.
The FSA warning continued: "If you have bought any of the above products do not eat them. Instead, return them to the store from where they were bought for a full refund. No receipt is required. For further details, please contact Tesco Customer Services directly on 0800 505 555."
