Dire Straights confirmed the death of their guitarist as the legendary rock group paid a heartfelt tribute to the 68-year-old.
The Dire Straights guitarist's death was confirmed by the legendary group in a heartbreaking social media post.
On Tuesday, Dire Straits Legacy - an official group of musicians who formally went on tour with the band - announced that the much-loved guitarist has been suffering from ill health, reports the Mirror. "So unbelievably devastated to hear about the sad death of Jack Sonni. He was one in a million. Truly inspirational talent," another echoed. "Sonni has left a legacy behind him. He will always be remembered for his grace and endless talent."
Jack - who was originally from Pennsylvania - joined the band in 1985 at the Live Aid concert at Wembley Stadium, which helped raise funds for the famine that hit Ethiopia - arguably one of their most memorable performances.
