Former Easter Road striker Tam McManus reckons the Kilmarnock boss should be at the top of the agenda.
Tam McManus insists Hibs must go for Derek McInnes after firing Lee Johnson. And the Easter Road club have also been urged to assess ex-gaffer Neil Lennon and Stephen Robinson in the search for the Englishman’s successor.
“Hibs have taken a punt on their last two managers and tried to be different. Now it has to be an alternative approach. If you narrowed me down to just one name, I’d say Derek. “Hibs fans will want a style, but if the be-all-and-end-all is getting Hibs to Hampden every year, being high in the league and having experience, Derek ticks every box.
Johnson took over from Maloney in May 2022 and Hibs finished fifth in his first full season in charge, which was enough to make Europe. Aggregate wins over Andorra’s Inter d’Escales and Swiss side Luzern set-up a Conference League play-off with Aston Villa, but Hibs were hammered 5-0 in last midweek’s first leg.
