Videos online appear to show people running to their vehicles to escape what are said to be gunshots, before being greeted by men wielding knives, while other clips show a group of men fighting with weapons.
The tournament was being broadcast online, with pictures showing the moment commentary stops as people watching begin running away.
Derbyshire Police Chief Superintendent Emma Aldred said:"We are keen to speak to anyone with information relating to the incident yesterday.
