Speculation continues as media across Europe suggest Mohamed Salah could leave Liverpool for Saudi Arabia

Liverpool continue to be drawn into the spotlight as Mohamed Salah exit rumours persist heading into the final week of the British summer transfer window.

A three-year contract extension through to 2025 was signed last summer and the official word thus far has been that Salah has every intention of honouring that deal and press on after becoming Liverpool's fifth all-time top goalscorer.READ MORE: Liverpool may have already identified Mohamed Salah successor defenders 'can't stop'

It was the latter rumour that was picked up by Twitter account @DeadlineDayLive, a page that shares the latest transfer whispers, with a post that began: "BREAKING: MO SALAH WANTS TO LEAVE LIVERPOOL! Al-Ittihad will offer him a salary that will make him the HIGHEST PAID player in the Saudi Pro League."
