BREAKING: Deep freeze in Lancashire to continue as Met Office issues new ice weather warning

Icy conditions are set to continue after the Met Office issued another warning covering parts of Lancashire.

Blackpool, Burnley, Lancaster, Morecambe are not included in the warning area at this time. Met Office weather experts say there is 'potential for ice developing and some challenging travelling conditions on Thursday night and Friday morning'.As a result, there may be some injuries and slips and falls and probably some icy patches on untreated roads.

The icy weather conditions have caused chaos across the country this week, with multiple crashes and road closures reported. Manchester Airport was forced to close both its runways due to heavy snowfall while police have closed Keighley Road, in Trawden, in both directions 'for the foreseeable' due to the icy weather conditions.

Temperatures plunged below minus 10C in parts of the UK overnight amid warnings of snow, ice and travel disruption. Drumnadrochit near Inverness in the Highlands hit minus 10.4C in the early hours of Thursday, making it the coldest recorded temperature of the year so far.
