The pair behind the venture have high ambitions for the future of the establishment
A unique Nottingham pub close to the Castle has reopened - and the duo who've taken it on hope the boozer can become a 'real haven' for punters. A ribbon-cutting ceremony with local dignitaries marked the reopening on Monday as business partners Oscar Bagram and Michael Capaldi look forward to the future at the helm of The Roundhouse, which had been empty for almost a year.
The Roundhouse will look to work with local suppliers as much as possible, with Castle Rock supplying the ales on sale, Stewarts of Trent Bridge providing the coffee and MKG Foods onboard, too The interior has been freshened up but key features such as a hand-painted cherub on the ceiling and the unusual artwork remains. Black and white photographs of medical staff including physicians and nurses hang on the walls, paying homage to the building's history.
"We walked into this, and it was the only one that we sort of fell in love with straightaway. From the outside, what a building,” said Mr Bagram. The Lord Mayor of Nottingham, Councillor Carole McCulloch, declared The Roundhouse open at the ribbon-cutting event. In a speech she said: "Today is a day of celebration as we gather here in the heart of this beloved city to mark a significant milestone, the grand opening of The Roundhouse.
