Soap fans were in for a treat this week as Holby City star David Ames joined the Hollyoaks cast as headteacher Carter Shepherd - but what exactly is his life like off screen?
Swapping the wards of Holby City for a new role in Hollyoaks, actor David Ames delighted fans this week when a first look episode, saw the star make his debut in the Channel 4 soap as new headteacher Carter Shepherd.
It was then that Carter first made his on screen debut, with the star volunteering to be a shoulder to cry on for Goldie in her hour of need. "He comes with a lot of skeletons in his closet that will slowly come to light. He’s also the widow of Detective Inspector Lexi Calder so we will find out more about their relationship I’m sure as we go down the line. It will be fun to watch."
A further high profile role followed the following year, when in 2009 Dominic played the character of Nathan during an episode of Doctor Who entitled Planet of the Dead. Holby City David’s biggest role to date has to be his starring role in BBC medical drama Holby City, which he first took on in 2013.
As well as more dramatic storylines, Dominic was also a key character in a very health centric storyline which saw him contract Hepatitis C after suffering from a needle stick injury.Personal life Away from his acting, David lives a busy but fun social life, with the star often sharing snaps of his adventures with friends on Instagram.
