Even if Rousey returns to MMA, it’s almost certain she won’t be fighting Chandler after her unanimous decision defeat at UFC Vegas 77. It was clear what way the fight would play out in the opening minute when Dumont landed a massive right hand that made Chandler literally turn her back and run away. The American managed to get to the opposite fence, defend herself from a barrage of follow-up strikes and ultimately survive a truly tough opening round.
Besides a little chuckle from Cruz, the commentators didn’t initially react to Chandler’s hilarious escape as they focused on a potentially fight-ending flurry from her opponent.
