Campaigners want the Victim’s Bill to better support victims of abuse
The proposal is among several other recommendations that is aiming to strengthen the Bill and improve support for victims of crime.successfully used her DNA to prosecute her father for the rape of her mother when she was just 14-years-old forty years later.that more needed to be done to address sexual abuse “openly in the black British community” as campaigners move forward to bring changes into law.
The CWJ have backed further recommendations for the new Bill, including the immediate end to the sharing of victims’ and witnesses’ data between the police and the Home Office for immigration means, and the introduction of a complete firewall for those groups. The practice leaves room for unjust criminalisation of victims of domestic abuse and other forms of violence against women and exploitation.
