A dad has taken to Reddit for advice after going away on a three-day 'boys trip' while he left his wife at home to look after their five-month-old baby struggling to sleep.

A 33-year-old dad says his wife got very upset when she asked him not to go on a boy’s holiday.

The reason? She was struggling with their five-month-old baby, who was going through a period of sleep regression. The dad asked publicly if he was in the wrong after sharing that initially, his wife was fine with the plans, so he arranged a 12-person group trip that would see them golfing and staying in an Airbnb rental for three days.he shared: ‘Fast forward to five months later, a couple of weeks before the trip. Our son was in the midst of a sleep regression and he was waking up several times each night. My wife still breastfed him and he would not accept me when he’d wake up upset.

‘One day she approached me and said she didn’t want me to go anymore and that I needed to stay home because she was afraid it would be too much for her alone,’ he said. While away, his wife called him and sounded upset. When he returned he shared that although they had reconciled, it was obvious what her stance was on the situation.

The commenters shared their own advice and to our surprise, many stood by his actions and said he was right to leave his wife behind.
