John Phillips built four cabins to welcome holidaymakers but council chiefs refused planning approval
A professional mixed martial artist has been left devastated over fears he will have to tear down four holiday chalets in his garden. John Phillips built the cabins on land that came with the house he bought with partner Kerrie Garrett and their two-year-old daughter Darcy.
John told Wales Online how he liaised with Swansea Council planning officers and was advised they might need change of use consent if let out to tourists. He submitted a planning application last July to complete the chalets, stating they could attract visitors to the area while the landscape and visual impacts were minor.
The report added the “need and demand for the holiday chalets in this sensitive countryside location has not been justified”. John is considering an appeal against the refusal decision.
