The car had to be taken away on a recovery vehicle
This was the scene as a Greater Manchester Police car had to be removed after it was involved in a crash in Heywood. The Peugeot 308 had to be removed by a recovery vehicle after a crash at the junction of Argyle Street and Sutherland Road.
Emergency services were called out to the scene at around 10pm on Saturday . An image from the scene shows the car with a crumpled front end. A Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: “At around 10pm on Saturday, January 7, firefighters were called to reports of a crash at the junction of Argyle Street and Sutherland Road in Heywood. One fire engine from Heywood fire station quickly attended the scene."Firefighters assisted in moving a police car from the road and making the area safe. Firefighters were at the scene for around 20 minutes.
Further information on the nature of the collision and the circumstances leading up to the crash are yet to be confirmed. GMP has been approached for comment.
