Yorkshire cricketer Lauren Whinfield-Hill on living in Leeds
Lauren WinField-Hill is an English champion cricketer who currently plays for Yorkshire, Northern Diamonds, Oval Invincibles, Melbourne Stars and England. Originally from York, she now lives in LeedsMost days I like to get out early and take the dog for a walk in Roundhay Park. If I’ve got training – which I have five days a week - then I’ll head over to Headingley. Sometimes we’ll go to Otley where I love to go to the river and have a cold swim – I’ll do that as often as I can.
At the same time, we love a night out as well so you’re highly likely to find us at the Flying Pizza in Roundhay. It’s an absolute institution in Leeds and we love just to eat something delicious, washed down with a nice glass of red wine.Not surprisingly, it’s always going to be a run for me! I love to run and I’ll do around 10k most weekends, along the trails and the backways around Roundhay Park which is close to where we live.
However you can’t really beat some hearty Italian food, although I do try and make good choices when it comes to what I eat.I do love to shop and I’m a regular visitor to the York Designer Outlet – I have to say I don’t often come away empty handed.Luckily Leeds has got some great shopping and I love to have a wander round the city. I like high end high street such as H & M and Zara – you can always get some really nice stuff there.
