Notts County hung on to beat Forest Green Rovers in a seven-goal thriller
Winning is the most important thing for David McGoldrick and Notts County as they hung on to beat Forest Green Rovers in a seven-goal thriller on Saturday. The win, while not ending as their most convincing of the season so far, took them back to the top of the League Two table after nine games, while also maintaining Notts’ 100% home record to start the campaign.
“We got the win, which was the most important thing because no games are easy and no points are given to you, so we’re happy to get those three points. You’ve got to dig in sometimes and we did that a lot today. On this, McGoldrick added: “We’re really fluid with our play and we work on these things all week in being able to play different positions within the gaffer’s system. Sam [Austin] can play anywhere on the pitch and Jodi [Jones] is quality and can go in and out with the ball as a winger.
