Notts County sit top of League Two after 12 games
Next up for Notts County is one of the games they would have had circled on the calendar when the fixtures were first released, as they welcome Nottinghamshire rivals Mansfield Town to Meadow Lane.
He said: “I’m always a bit nervous but I’m excited about the atmosphere because is a special place to be when it is packed out and there will be that extra energy because it’s a derby. It would certainly be fair to categorise this fixture as a big one from the perspective of both clubs because it is a local derby but also due to the respective league positions of the two teams.
“If we want to continue to be successful as a group these big games are going to come around a lot and we need to be better. I’m looking forward to seeing the players perform the way we want them to in this atmosphere. He understood the magnitude of the fixture after playing in that game four years ago, but the approach County have applied successfully under Williams will not change this Saturday as they look to continue their strong start.
