Castle Douglas and Crocketford member Pauline Drysdale raised the issue of the A75/B794 turn-off after the fifth accident there in recent months
Two cars were involved in a collision at the Euroroute’s turn-off with the B794 to Haugh of Urr just before 6.30pm on Friday. It’s the fifth accident at the site since late March.
“I am gravely concerned about the safety of drivers on the A75 and we must all keep the pressure on Amey and Transport Scotland to take mitigating action, especially at this junction, before any fatalities occur. We don’t want to be saying too little, too late.” He said: “The old adage is the road doesn’t kill, it’s the drivers and the cars that kill or get people hurt.”
